Fresco by Scotto® Eggplant and Zucchini Pie-Limited Availability
Restaurant inspired dining brought to you by Fresco by Scotto®, a family owned Italian restaurant in New York City. One of the most unique and popular dishes served at Fresco by Scotto, will soon be a family favorite of yours too. We layer breaded eggplant cutlets and hearty zucchini slices with rich ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheese - and top it all with a classic red sauce. When heated, the cheesy, ooey goodness will bring smiles to the whole family.

"This was irresistibly delicious. We, like so many other families, are trying to have more meat-free meals and this one was a runaway hit. We served a quarter of the tray per person and paired it with a few of the baby baker potatoes for a very filling and flavorful treat. I'm going to be ordering this one every single time, and it's one of those meals that will probably be cooked up the same night that our Schwan's man comes. Hm, maybe I should buy two! :)"

"What a tragedy that this scrumptious dish has been discontinued. . .I am hoping that translates to seasonal, and not discontinued. . . ? I enjoyed this dish more then any cassarole type dish that Schwan's sells. This dish is, and was absolutely delish. Please bring this one back . . .

"I read several poor reviews on this but decided to try it anyway. I am really glad that we did! The eggplant was a little soggy but the flavor was excellent. I will definately buy this again. It's great!!"

"First let me say that there was plenty enough ricotta, mozzarella and parmesan cheese in this dish. However the sauce was pretty much tasteless! It tasted more like tomato sauce right from the can rather than a nice Italian red sauce."

"then this is for you. It is pleanty of food no doubt but not nearly enough flavor. I was expecting a whole lot more taste and all I got was "meh". Definitely will NOT order again."

"Omg....this dish is super good and its even healthy.....its worth trying and you would not even believe how good it is knowing what it is, because the taste is just that good.....lol I did not tell my family what it was...and they loved it...yet they hate eggplant and zucchini......not this dish......guess I showed them now they love it......try you won't regret it.....yum.:-)"

"I'm single, but with modern refrigeration that's usually not a problem. The first time I bought this I loved it, and put the rest in the fridge knowing it would make at least 3 more meals. Warmed up it was soggy and inedible; eggplant is very fragile. However I had liked it so much I ordered it again, and sawed a hunk off the frozen casserole, cooking it in the oven. It was horrid, and so was the rest of it when I cooked it all at once. I don't know. I know the Schwans trucks in my area frequently break down. If they lose refrigeration, and then refreeze, that might account for this and other complaints. My driver told me that Schwans recently decided to invest in some new trucks instead of making repairs all the time. Maybe I'll try this again -- that first experience was wonderful!"

"Have ordered this twice. First time it was fabulous. Very flavorful and very moist. The second time I tried it the eggplant was like rubber. Just discarded it and enjoyed the remainder of the dish. Delicious. Please be more selective about eggplant to make it a perfect dish every time."

"We've ordered from Schwan's for a couple years now and have tried most everything. The only thing that we haven't liked is the eggplant zucchini pie! So bad we couldn't eat it. It was basically the eggplant that ruined it, it was soggy so it didn't at all make it appetizing! Maybe we got a bad pie, but I don't think we'll be trying it again any time soon to find out...Sorry

"I was excited to order this product last year, but disappointed with the end result. It wasn't bad... I didn't toss it. I don;t plan on buying it again; was not better than a frozen dinner you can get at the food store (in my opinion)."

"I was glad to see an item offerd that would fit my vegetarian diet. Sadly, this was a very big disappointment. Eggplant? I didn't see anything that resembled eggplant and I assume that the mushy stuff was supposed to be it. Save your money."

"I can not believe the good reviews on this tray of goo. This is the first food I have purchased from Schawns that my wife and I just could not eat. Threw the mushy tray of goo away after two bites. The only reason I took a second bite of it was to confirm how bad the first bite was. Bland sauce tasted like watered down ketchup. Mushy in the middle, just a hot mess."
